DOXXbet Sports Betting enters Nigerian market
Slovakian-based sportsbook DOXXbet has expanded its operations in the African region by launching its SportsBox Betting Terminal in Nigeria.
The Nation reported that DOXXbet’s offering is expected to intensify the local sports betting market after its offering has been made available in the Nigerian market.
For DOXXbet, the launch of its sports betting platform in Nigeria is proof of its plans to expand throughout the African region. Doxxbet Nigeria Managing Director Andrej Pavlo has described the launch as “an important milestone” since the platform was launched in Liberia four years ago.
“We are looking to expand throughout the African continent and it was important that we have a major presence in Nigeria. The Nigerian sport-betting market continues to be amongst the fastest growing markets in the world and I believe will give us a solid foundation to expand our African operations after launching in Liberia four years ago.” – said Pavlo, according to the news report.
SportsBox betting platform, according to Pavlo, is different from other offerings because punters will be able to place their bets without any assistance from their staff.
He reminded players that the terminal will not accept ATM cards for payments and that a player can only win up to N5 million (US$13,869) on a single ticket. The minimum stake that a punter can make is at N100 (US$0.28), according to Pavlo.
When asked about the company’s plan, Pavlo revealed that the firm is eyeing to bring their offerings in other Nigerian locations such as Ogun, Rivers and Abuja once they are able to get hold of a national gaming license.
DOXXBet is one of the latest companies that have penetrated the Nigerian this month. Just a cpuple of days ago, sports betting firm HAMABET announced its entry in the African nation.
The company, which provides both online and retail betting services, recently secured a national license to provide Sports betting services, awarded by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission.
