Microgaming has introduced Reel Splitter, a fresh take on the vintage fruit slot experience. The slot is developed by Just For The Win exclusively for Microgaming.

Reel Splitter is a new four-reel slot with 81 ways and a host of heavy hitting features, including wilds, free spins and reel split respins. Reel Splitter’s classic slot design is elevated with an assortment of boldly colourful fruit symbols and a timelessly smooth soundtrack.

Landing three or four free spins symbols anywhere on the reels during the base game awards eight or sixteen free spins, giving players a chance to net big prizes in a round that pays both ways and includes a locked stacked wild on the middle reel.

“Sleek visuals and innovative mechanics bring the classic slot machine bang up to date in this enjoyable new title from Just For The Win. Reel Splitter is colourful, traditional and straightforward on the outside, breaking open to reveal truly contemporary and engaging features. The game is ideally suited to players at all levels, reimagining the vintage casino experience with a host of exciting original features,” Jagoda Barber, Head of Games at Microgaming said.

“We are thrilled to bring the dazzle and lavish atmosphere of the old Vegas Strip to players in Reel Splitter, our modern take on vintage slots. As well as giving players the chance to win big in the base game, our reel split respin feature opens up a whole new level of rewards, adding an extra reel and 243 ways to win. We’ve had a lot of fun developing Reel Splitter, and we can’t wait for players to experience our timeless new title,” Johan Persson, CEO at Just For The Win said.

Cambodia’s cabinet has approved the draft law on commercial gaming management, according to reports in the Phnom Penh Post.

The law “focuses on ensuring integrated commercial gambling that contributes to economic growth, tourism promotion, job creation, and revenue generation,” the report said, citing a press release from the Council of Ministers.

It calls for strict casino sector management and measures to protect against money laundering and terrorism financing.

The report gave little information on the details of the bill, except to confirm that locals will not be permitted to gamble and there will be no further licenses issued within 200km of the capital, where NagaCorp has a monopoly.

The report cited government spokesman Phay Siphan as saying that money laundering and terrorism financing concerns are addressed through cooperation with relevant casino partners.

The gambling law has been in the works for nine years.

Incentive Games Partners with NewPlay Group

Incentive Games has announced a new partnership with the UK-based NewPlay group.

NewPlay is an investment company specialised in providing mobile entertainment, gaming and media content services to customers in developing markets with a focus on East and West Africa.

As per the deal, Incentive will provide its virtual football wagering game to two of Newplay’s operator brands in Kenya and Ghana, Playabet and Betyetu respectively.

The virtuals game is optimised for low-spec smartphones, meaning it can be used by customers in developing markets where technological penetration is lower. It also offers continuous wagering opportunities during the suspension of live sports.

“Playabet is an exciting up-and-coming brand in Africa, and we look forward to launching with their respected and recognisable Betyetu brand in Ghana in near future, therefore we are really excited to be working with them to launch our virtuals game in Kenya and Ghana,” John Gordon, chief executive of Incentive Games, said.

“We also look forward to expanding our product offering in the near future when the sporting world resumes competition. Until then, we are excited to support NewPlay Group’s activity as it continues to be a market leader in the African iGaming industry,” John Gordon added.

Conor O’Donovan, CEO of NewPlay Group, said that his business understands the technology and market constraints in African jurisdictions, which had necessitated “significant research” to find a suitable virtuals partner.

“We were attracted to Incentive, as they have achieved the balance in delivering a compelling UX while remaining light and accessible on low-end devices. We are delighted to be partnering with Incentive, going live with Playabet in Kenya initially followed by Ghana with view to expanding this relationship into other territories in 2020/2021,” he said.
