The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has announced that a Voluntary Self-Exclusion (VSE) list has been established specifically for sports wagering. Since the first casino in Massachusetts opened in 2015, more than 1700 people have enrolled in a VSE programme for casino gaming, and today there are 1329 individuals enrolled. The VSE programmes are designed to allow those who want to regain control a means to restrict their access to gambling for a pre-determined amount of time. With the introduction of sports wagering, individuals will have the option to self-exclude from casino gaming floors, retail and digital sportsbooks, or both forms of gambling.

Sportradar Group AG announced the Massachusetts Gaming Commission has granted US betting subsidiary, Sportradar Solutions, a Temporary Sports Wagering Vendor License for the state of Massachusetts. Sportradar now holds 44 licenses, or equivalent, in North America across US states, territories, tribes and Canada, providing its services to a wide range of clients operating within these jurisdictions, advancing transparency and integrity and delivering accurate sports data to sports betting and gaming agencies.

Genius Sports Limited, the official data, technology and commercial partner that powers the ecosystem connecting sports, betting and media, announced that it has been temporarily certified by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission as a licensed sports wagering vendor. The temporary certificate of authority is valid for an initial 12 months pending final full authorisation.

Partnerships

MGM Resorts International announced a multi-year agreement to become a hospitality and strategic partner of the National Football League Players Association. Under the agreement, the two sides will collaborate on creating new content and fan experiences with current and retired NFL players. The partnership also provides hospitality benefits to NFL players with MGM Resorts’ properties serving as the host location for a variety of NFL player-related events.

Codere has entered into a new partnership with football team Club Atlético Lanús, which plays in Argentina’s top divisions Primera División and Liga Nacional de Básquet. Under the deal, the operator’s Codere-Bingo Lanús brand will feature on the back of players’ jerseys, underneath their squad numbers, until the end of 2023. The agreement builds on Codere’s long history with Club Atlético Lanús, with the operator having served as the team’s official sponsor between 1999 and 2016.

The newly promoted Brazilian Serie A side, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube has landed a new sponsorship agreement with the UK-based operator, Betfair. As part of the agreement, the betting firm’s logo is incorporated on the chest of the club’s shirt, which is back in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship after a recent promotion after three years. The agreement covers the men’s team and an essential space for brand awareness on the women’s kits – on the back, at the top.

The year 2022 was hard, but it was also a breakthrough year for Slotegrator. The company’s provider’s network grew to 100 partners, its total bet increased by half, demand for its innovative products (including newly released ones) remained high.

First among the company’s achievements was the new turnkey casino platform, which featured a number of updated modules and other benefits that help customers run their businesses more effectively — features they greatly appreciated.

Slotegrator’s partner network hit a benchmark 100 game providers in 2022, including innovative, boundary-pushing developers like Onlyplay, Slotmill, Spribe, JetGames, Fazi, Felix Gaming, Poker Games Soft, Superlotto, Lucky Elephant Gaming, HoGaming, Kajot Games, Turbo Games, eBET, 3 Oaks Gaming, Hölle Games, Macaw Gaming, Swint, Fugaso, Boldplay, among others.

In all, the total number of games was raised to 17,249 (including slots, live dealer games, virtual games, etc.), and the number of new customers’ projects exceeded 100.

Slotegrator also strengthened its market position. In the company’s target regions, the total bet increased significantly: by 3780% in the Balkans, by 303% in Southeast Asia, by 175% in South Asia, and by 173% in Latin America. And in regions where the company has long had a strong position, there was also growth: 120% in Africa, 70% in Western Europe, 60% in Central and Eastern Europe, and 25% in the CIS.

“Relying on analytical data, we have confidently built a development strategy for 2023 and are preparing to introduce a number of innovative products to the market,” emphasizes Yana Khaidukova, Managing Director of Slotegrator.  “We will present some of them at ICE 2023 in February.”

Sporting Index becomes first bookmaker to tackle rugby union Player Performance market

Published

Reading Time: 2 minutes

For the first time in the history of betting on rugby union Sporting Index are offering a Player Performance market ahead of the 2023 Six Nations championship.

Player Performance points will be awarded and subtracted across a number of criteria, from receiving 10 points for a try assist to minus 10 points for a red card. Four Player Performance points will be racked up for any individual points scored in the game, so a try, for example, will see the player dotting down under the sticks rewarded with 20 points (4×5).

Punters will have to decide whether to buy or sell a player’s predicted make-up depending on if they think that player will exceed or fall short of the firm’s expectations.

In England’s opener against Scotland, Owen Farrell’s Player Performance spread, for example is priced at 58-61. So, punters thinking he’ll have a stormer and rack up points should buy, while those who think he’ll struggle to tick the Player Performance boxes can sell.

Sporting Index’s other spreads on the Six Nations predict there will be a total of 686 points scored in the tournament, including 80 tries, while the firm expect there to be 16 players sent to the sin bin.

Neville Burdock, Head of Sportsbook at Sporting Index, said: “For a long time punters have enjoyed betting on player performance markets in football, so we’re excited to take the next step and make that available on rugby union, particularly with the Six Nations kicking off this weekend.

“To be the first bookmaker out with this is a credit to our traders who work tirelessly to crunch the numbers, and we look forward to seeing the uptake from punters over the course of what is a massive 2023 for rugby union.

“With player performance points awarded for the likes of try assists, metres run, line breaks, tackles and points scored, and then subtracted for missed tackles, sin bins and red cards, punters will need to decide whether we’ve gone too high or low on each player’s spread.”

Sporting Index:

Player Performance points system:

10 points per try assist

5 points per line break

4 points per point scored

1 point per 10 metres run (rounded down to nearest 10)
