Pragmatic Play, a leading content provider to the iGaming industry, has further grown its footprint across a variety of international markets after taking its content live on Technamin’s online platform.

Operator partners of Technamin will now gain access to an array of award-winning slots, including recent releases Muertos Megaways™, Sword of Ares™, and multi-award-winning hits Wolf Gold and Gates of Olympus™.

Armenia-based Technamin, which was founded in 2020, provides cutting-edge products and a variety of services that take into account changing consumer demands and the industry landscape.

Pragmatic Play’s titles will join a collection of more than 9,000 casino games from over 120 online providers, with the platform built on a microservice architecture and with a fully cloud-based setup. It includes a sportsbook with global coverage, risk and fraud solution, and a customisable user interface.

It becomes the latest commercial deal inked by Pragmatic Play, following a major commercial expansion with bet365 to take its Bingo vertical live, as well as a number of multi-product partnerships across Europe.

Irina Cornides, Chief Operating Officer at Pragmatic Play, said: “Partnering with ambitious brands reflects our own ethos of persistence in delivering the very best to our partners and their players, and Technamin has swiftly established itself as a major player within the iGaming industry.

“Broadening the reach of our slot games is something that we’ll always value, and we look forward to growing in partnership with Technamin.”

Suren Khachatryan, Founder and CEO at Technamin, said: “Pragmatic Play is one of the most established providers in our industry, and we’re delighted to add its comprehensive collection of slot titles to our platform.

“We strive to bring the best games to our partners, and this is another major step in us achieving that goal.”

The Armenian parliament has passed the second and final reading of amendments to the law on state duty. Approved with 60 votes in favour and 6 abstentions, the amendments include increases in duty for bookmaking, sweepstakes and online games.

The amendments, which passed the first reading earlier this month, make changes to gambling licences and introduce a quota system.

A company offering online gambling with winnings would have to buy the right to accept bets worth 100bn drams (€239.8m) and pay 175m drams (€419,800) in duty. The system for sweepstakes would be different. For the right to accept bets of up to 50m drams, operators would have to pay an additional 5m drams.

Deputy Minister of Finance, Arman Poghosyan, said that the increase in tax was necessary because gambling turnover had risen dramatically, from 140bn drams in 2017 to 4.2tr drams in the first nine months of this year. The changes are expected to generate additional revenues of 10bn drams per year from 2024. They will enter force on July 1, 2023.

Armenia Intends to Impose Additional Taxes on Bookmakers and Sweepstakes

The Armenian parliament has passed the first reading of state duty amendments that would see duty increased for betting, sweepstakes and online gaming.

According to Deputy Minister of Finance Arman Poghosyan, the problem is that although these companies have been paying tax on profit since 2021, the need for new regulations has arisen, as the sector’s turnover has grown dramatically since 2017- from 140 billion drams to 4.2 trillion drams in the first 9 months of this year ($1 – 395.30 drams).

The amendments call for revising the licenses provided to these companies and introducing a quota system.

In particular, a company organising Internet gambling with the winnings will have to buy from the state the right to accept bets worth 100 billion drams and pay 175 million drams in duty for every 100 billion.

The system for sweepstakes is different – for the right to accept bets of 50 million drams, they will have to pay additionally 5 million drams.

The proposed changes are expected to generate additional revenues of 10 billion drams annually, except for 2023, as the law is to enter into force on July 1.
