German slots player scoops multi-million-euro jackpot on NetEnt’s Mega Fortune
Reading Time: 2 minutes

A German PokerStars Casino player has become an overnight multi-millionaire after landing a €3.5m jackpot on NetEnt’s Mega Fortune.

The staggering sum is the largest ever online win at PokerStars Casino and came from a deposit of just over €2 – see the moment the wheels aligned here.

Mega Fortune has now had eight jackpots of more than one million euros in 2018. The latest lucky recipient, a journalist from Lower Saxony, Germany, had arrived home from work late, at around 9pm, and decided to unwind with a Mega Fortune slots session. He soon landed his life-changing prize – while he was waiting for a pizza to cook in the oven.

“I was numb and disbelieved for a few minutes,” said the chess fan, who had the same shocked reaction from his wife when he shared the news.

They will spend the prize money on renovating their house and buying a holiday home and an SUV van. They will also put aside funds for their two children’s university fees and share some of their new-found wealth among family members.

“After breaking yet another record, NetEnt’s Mega Fortune has once again underlined its legendary status among slots players,” said Henrik Fagerlund, NetEnt Chief Product Officer. “This time it has paid out the biggest cash prize in Stars’ history, with the jackpot swelling the number of Mega Fortune millionaires to eight in 2018.”

NetEnt, leading provider of digital casino solutions, has entered into an agreement to supply its award-winning online casino games to Sweden’s main horse racing operator AB Trav och Galopp (ATG), as the new Swedish gambling law takes effect on January 1st, 2019.

ATG was founded in 1974 and will be one of Sweden’s largest gaming operators on the re-regulated market. The company is owned by the Swedish Trotting Association and the Swedish Jockey Club, with the aim of guaranteeing long-term financial stability for trotting and thoroughbred racing.

On June 7th, 2018, the Swedish parliament, Riksdagen, approved the re-regulation of Sweden’s gambling market. The new legislation comes into force on January 1st, 2019, and NetEnt aims to be ready to operate together with its partners on the day of market opening. Expansion in regulated markets is a key part of NetEnt’s growth strategy, and after a thorough qualification process, NetEnt has been selected as an online casino supplier to ATG.

”Our ambition at ATG is to create a responsible and exciting casino experience with long-lasting relations to our customers. We are pleased that NetEnt will play an important role in achieving this ambition,” says Mikael Bäcke, Chief Product and Business Development Officer at ATG.

Henrik Fagerlund, MD NetEnt Malta Ltd. and Chief Product Officer of NetEnt comments: “I am very proud that we are partnering up with ATG for the new Swedish regulated market. ATG has a very strong brand in Sweden, and with our experience in online casino and regulated markets I am confident that we can support ATG in their ambitions to grow outside of horse racing.”

The commercial launch of NetEnt’s online games with ATG is expected in the beginning of 2019.

Reading Time: 1 minute

NetEnt is paying tribute to the timeless “fruity” slots with its new game release, Double Stacks. With Double Stacks, Free Spins, stacked Symbols, and landbased inspired lightshow style graphics, Double Stacks pulls out all the stops in showing just how exciting a 5×3 classic slot game can be.

Dialling up the classic theme, Double Stacks presents a visual feast of falling fruit pieces as it focuses on maximizing the excitement of classic 5-reel gameplay.

The new release incorporates the eponymous Double Stacks feature that doubles all stack symbols that land flush in the reel, as well as free spins, where wilds can also be doubled up.

Henrik Fagerlund, Chief Product Officer at NetEnt, says: “We wanted to celebrate the enduring appeal of fruit style video slots and are delighted with the results.

“The key to Double Stacks is ageless simplicity, combined with radiant visuals – we are sure it will be a hit with old school players and newcomers alike.”
