Landmark Partnership is first to align casino with both an NFL and NBA team

 

Saints and Pelicans President Dennis Lauscha joined with Caesars Entertainment Chief Experience Officer, Michael Marino and Harrah’s New Orleans Assistant General Manager, Kathryn Jenkins to announce that Harrah’s New Orleans will be designated as “An Official Casino Partner of the New Orleans Saints” and “A Proud Casino Partner of the New Orleans Pelicans.”

The multi-year partnership, beginning in 2019, brings together three notable New Orleans entertainment brands. The partnership includes unique opportunities for Harrah’s to bring the Saints and Pelicans experience to life. By doubling down on the Saints, Harrah’s will be able to develop customized experiences, in game features, a Saints branded area on property and be designated as an official post-game destination.

“We are proud to align ourselves with a brand such as Harrah’s New Orleans Casino that is an industry leader not only nationally but on a local level as well,” said New Orleans Saints and Pelicans President Dennis Lauscha. “Located in the Heart of Downtown New Orleans, Harrah’s vision for development and commitment to the city mirror that of the Saints and Pelicans and we could not be happier about this partnership.”

Last week, the U.S. Department of Justice released a memorandum reconsidering a 2011 opinion on the applicability of the Wire Act beyond sports gambling. Sara Slane, the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) senior vice president of public affairs, issued the following statement in response to OLC’s opinion:

“It is unfortunate that the Department of Justice departed from well-established practice in reversing its previous opinion without a compelling reason to do so. However, the 2018 OLC opinion does not impact the ability for states and Tribes to legalize and regulate gaming on a state-by-state and tribal basis, or for companies to provide the exciting products and entertainment experiences our customers want.

“With over 4,000 regulators and billions of dollars allocated to compliance, casino gaming is one of the most highly regulated industries in the country and for decades has provided its customers with cutting-edge products in a safe, regulated environment pursuant to state, Tribal and federal law. We will work with all stakeholders to preserve the ability of states and Tribes to regulate gaming, and we encourage DOJ to investigate and shut down illegal, unregulated gambling operators who prey on consumers.”
