Greentube extends Latin American reach with BetPlay

Greentube, the NOVOMATIC Interactive division, has launched with Colombian operator BetPlay, making for another significant partnership as the company expands its footprint in the emerging region.

Following a seamless integration, a selection of popular titles from the supplier’s diverse portfolio are now live with BetPlay and available through the operator’s digital platforms. Since BetPlay went live with Greentube content on July 19th, titles such as Aztec PowerTM, Apollo God of the Sun, Amazing Stars and Book of RaTM Bingo have quickly established themselves as player favourites. Also, Sizzling HotTM deluxe and Lucky Lady’s CharmTM – international land-based classics which have been successfully adapted for online and mobile channels – are gaining a foothold and quickly building a fan base among Colombian players.

BetPlay is one of the largest operators in Colombia, which in 2016 became the first South American country to establish a licensing framework for online gaming. The industry has since developed at an astonishing rate, and Greentube’s content has proven successful in delivering interactive, cross-selling opportunities to local operators looking to strike gold in the promising market.

Mexico to Impose 20% Excise Tax on Online Gambling Firms

The Mexican government has unveiled plans to impose a 20% excise tax on online gambling firms.

Emmanuel Reyes Carmona, a member of the Chamber of Deputies, submitted a proposal to impose an excise tax on online gambling, which is likely to be approved without major objections. He pointed out that it is necessary to adopt specific laws and taxes that place online gambling on an equal footing to other segments in Mexico.

Now, considering that the most popular online casinos are based in Mexico, the industry’s reactions have not been positive, although they expect to come to an agreement with the government.

The online gambling segment is increasingly growing, especially as regards sports betting and more specifically football wagers. Mexicans are among the top bettors in the world, especially in events such as the World Cup or the Champions League.

ORYX Gaming, a Bragg Gaming Group company, has partnered with BtoBet in a deal which will provide the supplier with a gateway to regulated markets in Latin America and Africa.

Under the content distribution agreement, BtoBet, a global provider of sports betting solutions, will take on ORYX Gaming’s full portfolio of proprietary and third-party content. Top performing titles including recent release Battle Dwarf and the popular classic Back to the Fruits will be made available via ORYX Hub, together with premium games from partnered, top-tier studios such as Gamomat, Kalamba, Golden Hero and Givme Games, and third-party providers such as EGT, Zitro, Ortiz and Pariplay.

BtoBet boasts a strong presence in Latin American and African countries that will serve as a springboard for ORYX Gaming to launch with operators in regulated markets in those regions, in addition to further expanding its European footprint.
