    DraftKings unveiled My Stat Sheet, a gaming tool that gives players the ability to assess, track and interact with their personal stats through intuitive charts and information that will help empower players to make data-driven decisions on their own play and therefore promote responsible gaming. This new feature is now available across all DraftKings and Golden Nugget products.

    Jackpocket announced the release of Super Pick, a new app feature that streamlines the lottery experience for Mega Millions and Powerball fans, offering an even more convenient way to participate as combined jackpots soar past $1.3 billion. Jackpocket’s new Super Pick feature gives users an easy way to pick every special and standard ball in the game with just one tap.

    The Senate Tax Committee advanced legislation authored by Senator Matt Klein to legalise Sports Betting in Minnesota. This was the second time the bill has been heard in Taxes, after making a stop last year. The hearing focused on changes to tax rates and revenue disbursements.

    The Arizona Department of Gaming announced that it has allocated an event wagering operator license to Fanatics Betting and Gaming as the designee for Tonto Apache Sports Betting, an organisation of the Tonto Apache Tribe, pursuant to A.R.S. § 5-1304 and A.A.C. R19-4-105 and 106.

    The Massachusetts Gaming Commission reported that the month of February 2024 at Plainridge Park Casino, MGM Springfield and Encore Boston Harbor generated approximately $100.57 million in Gross Gaming Revenue. Additionally, approximately $52.55 million in taxable sports wagering revenue was generated across the eight mobile/online sports wagering licensees and the three in-person licensees for the month of February.

    Rebet, a new free-to-play social sportsbook, announced its official launch. The Rebet App, which is now available for download in the App Store across 47 U.S. states, is set to revolutionise the sports betting experience with first-of-its-kind features including an entire social sportsbook, peer-to-peer contests and dynamic user social feeds.

This strategic move aims to further revolutionise how fans interact with and enjoy Jai Alai, leveraging cutting-edge technology to increase engagement from at-home viewers.

    Bragg Gaming Group announced the launch of a custom slot game developed for Caesars Digital, Boardwalk Slots Bankers & Cash, now exclusively live on Caesars Palace Online Casino and Caesars Sportsbook & Casino in Michigan and New Jersey. The bespoke release takes proven game features and artwork from Bragg’s popular slot title Bankers & Cash and combines it with the evocative Boardwalk Slots brand owned by Caesars Digital.

    International Game Technology announced that its IGT PlayDigital iGaming content library is now available in Rhode Island via the Bally Casino Rhode Island app and on BallyCasino.com. This milestone content deployment makes IGT PlayDigital one of only two suppliers to offer content in all seven U.S. online gaming jurisdictions.

    International Game Technology PLC announced that its subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions Corporation, has extended its contract with UAB Perlas Network (“Perlas”) for an additional 12 years until 2035. As part of the agreement, IGT will provide upgrades to the Lottery’s central retail system including advanced software and user interfaces.

    “Upgrading Perlas’ central system with IGT technology will help us optimize and elevate the country’s most popular and exciting lottery games,” said Mindaugas Marcinkevičius, UAB Perlas Network CEO. “We look forward to implementing IGT’s upgrades and are pleased to continue this successful relationship for another 12 years.”

    “The technology enhancements being provided to Perlas are backed by IGT’s decades of lottery industry leadership and experience,” said Jay Gendron, IGT Chief Operating Officer Global Lottery. “This upgraded technology will introduce an administration portal that will enable the Lottery to view and manage all applications and back-office functions, helping to improve efficiencies and maximize profitability.”

    The Lottery has been a customer of IGT’s since 1994. In 2023, IGT announced that it signed a contract with Euloto UAB (Perlas’ dependent company) to deploy its advanced cloud-based remote game server and at least 12 eInstant games per year.

    International Game Technology PLC announced that it received an MSCI ESG rating of AAA, the highest-possible score the global rating agency presents. This year-over-year score increase demonstrates IGT’s continued sustainability leadership in managing ESG-related risks and opportunities. IGT scored particularly well in the categories of governance, product safety and quality, carbon emissions and labor management.

    New Partnerships

    PENN Entertainment and the National Hockey League (NHL) announced a partnership that designates PENN’s online sports betting brands, ESPN BET in the US and theScore Bet in Ontario, as Official Sports Betting Partners of the NHL. As official league partners, ESPN BET and theScore Bet will have access to a host of entitlements, including IP rights and media and marketing integrations across League programming and premium NHL experiences.

    NorthStar Gaming has announced that it has entered into a partnership agreement with BettorView that will enable NorthStar to engage with consumers in restaurants and bars across Ontario. The partnership provides NorthStar with the opportunity to further expand player acquisition across both sports wagering and online casino in a frictionless and convenient manner.

    Galaxy Gaming has announced that it has signed an agreement with leading content provider Pragmatic Play extending the existing term for the licensing of Galaxy table game content across its portfolio of Live Casino and RNG gaming experiences.

    New Appointments

    Konami Gaming announced the appointment of Eric Schultz as vice president of studio operations, to lead overall game development spanning software development, art design, sound design, math design and project management.

    Digital payments innovator Koin has appointed Scott Carcillo as its chief commercial officer. The newest addition to the rapidly growing Koin team, Carcillo will lead the company’s expansion into the gaming industry and overall market reach, focusing on macro-level business development strategies and fostering strategic partnerships.

    Sportradar announced the appointment of Jim Bombassei as Senior Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Finance, effective immediately. In this role, Bombassei will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with the global investment community and communicating the company’s business model, long-term strategy and financial performance.

    Everi Holdings Inc., a premier provider of land-based and digital casino gaming content and products, financial technology, player loyalty solutions and bingo, announced the deployment of Entegrity, Everi’s fourth-generation Anti-Money Laundering (AML) solution, at Prairie’s Edge Casino Resort in Granite Falls, Minn.

    The Registrar of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has issued PointsBet Canada Operations 1 Inc., a registered internet gaming operator, a Notice of Monetary Penalty totaling $150,000 for failing to meet Ontario’s responsible gambling requirements.

    emerchantpay, a leading global payment service provider and acquirer, announced that it will further support well-established gambling operator Pinnacle in the Ontario market.     G4 aims to minimize the impact of problem gambling by promoting a worldwide accreditation and certification program. Topics assessed during G4’s audit of IGT included responsible gambling code of conduct, corporate standards, operational code of practice, training, player protection tools, staff and responsible gambling, staff and problem gambling and player protection framework.

    IGT first received G4 responsible gaming accreditation for its sports betting business in 2022, digital solutions in 2019, and gaming operations in 2017.

    Sandy’s Racing & Gaming, the newest gaming and entertainment location for Eastern Kentucky, opened its doors to visitors. With nearly 700 historical horse racing games, two performance stages and a BetMGM Race & Sportsbook, the 75,000 square-foot facility is unlike anything else in the area.

    The PGA Tour announced that it has suspended two players on the Korn Ferry Tour for violating the Integrity Programme. In an emailed statement, the tour said Vince India and Jake Staiano placed bets on PGA Tour competitions, though did not bet on tournaments in which they were participants.

    The three Detroit casinos reported $101.6 million in monthly aggregate revenue for the month of September 2023, of which $100 million was generated from table games and slots, and $1.6 million from retail sports betting.

    Gaming Laboratories International announced that April Augustine, Director of Marketing, has been named to PR Daily’s Top Women in Marketing Awards List for 2023 in the Tech/Digital Marketers category. Augustine was chosen against a wide pool of nominees to receive recognition in the Tech/Digital Marketers category for her influential work.

    Partnerships

    BetMGM announced the renewal of its strategic partnership agreement with the Philadelphia 76ers. Under the agreement, BetMGM will continue as an Official Sports Betting Partner of the team. The multi-year extension includes the addition of BetMGM VIP fan experiences and watch parties, in-market odds boosts and increased courtside signage at Wells Fargo Centre.

    International Game Technology announced that its subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions Corporation, has extended its two contracts with the Kentucky Lottery Corporation until 2036. Under the terms of the new extensions, IGT will upgrade the Kentucky Lottery’s central system to IGT’s high-performing Aurora platform, deliver new point-of-sale hardware for 3400 lottery retailers across the State and deploy an upgraded iLottery system that includes cloud integration.

    Playtech, the world’s leading gambling technology company, has signed a new deal with the premier online gaming company in North America, FanDuel, launching branded Live Casino content on their Canadian platform. The deal is a key milestone for both companies, as FanDuel solidifies its position as a premium provider of online casino experiences and builds its Live Casino offering in Canada and Playtech continues its expansion across North America.

    Aegis Brands has announced that St. Louis Bar & Grill has unveiled Wings and Wagers with an exclusive, multi-year partnership with premier Canadian digital sportsbook and casino, Sports Interaction.     Euro Games Technology announced it is among the finalists in the 10th consecutive edition of Global Gaming Awards Las Vegas. The competition distinguishes the companies with outstanding achievements in the gaming sector in the Americas region for the past 12 months. The Bulgarian manufacturer has been shortlisted in the Land-Based Industry Supplier of the Year category which recognises the efforts of the providers who drive the development of brick-and-mortar casinos.

    International Game Technology announced that Michelle Carney, the Company’s Vice President of Global Lottery Marketing, will be honoured with Public Gaming Research Institute’s (PGRI) Major Peter J. O’Connell Lottery Industry Lifetime Achievement Award. PGRI will recognise Carney with this award at its upcoming PGRI Lottery Expo Nashville on September 12. Established in 1993, the Major Peter J. O’Connell Lottery Industry Lifetime Achievement Award honours individuals who have distinguished themselves throughout their careers with important lottery industry contributions.

    The Michigan Gaming Control Board unanimously voted to approve the one-year renewal of the licenses for the three authorised Detroit casinos — MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino and Hollywood Casino at Greektown. By law, three votes, which constitute a quorum for the Board, are required in support of final determinations on applications for a casino license.

    Three Rivers Casino, powered by Internet Sports International, has been named the 2023 “Best Sportsbook” by Best of the Willamette Valley. This is the first time Three Rivers has won this distinction. The notable recognition as “Best Sportsbook” follows extensive work from ISI and Three Rivers to refine the casino’s product offering and guest experience since the partnership’s initial launch in December 2021.

    1X2 Network has now formally been granted a full supplier’s license by the Michigan Gaming Control Board. This approval will see games from 1X2’s in-house game studios Iron Dog Studio, Prospect Gaming and AD LUNAM being made available to players in Michigan, including games such as 1 Million Megaways BC, 1 Million Fortunes Megaways and Iron Dog Studio’s Strike Series of Hold and Win titles.

    New Partnership

    Catena Media has strengthened its position in the North American and Latin American online sports betting and casino gaming markets by entering a content and commercial media partnership with The Sporting News, one of the best-known sports publisher brands in the US. The partnership will run for three years and will see Catena Media create editorial and advertorial content as the exclusive betting partner to Sporting News.

    New Appointment

    Lottery.com has appointed Christopher Anderson Gooding to its board of directors. Christopher Gooding brings decades of service at respected law firms, predominantly within the heart of London’s financial district. His professional journey began as an Assistant Solicitor at Clifford Turner in London and Dubai, advancing to a 15-year tenure at Clyde & Co. A consummate legal strategist, he also served as a partner at LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae and Howard Kennedy. Notably, from 1999 to 2009, he held the position of Director at the Sovereign Trade Corporation. Since 2022, he has honed his expertise as a Consultant at Crowell and Morsing.

    International Game Technology PLC (IGT) announced that its near- and long-term science-based targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Additionally, the SBTi validated the company’s commitment to reaching net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the value chain by 2050.

    “Receiving this validation from the SBTi represents a milestone achievement for IGT as it reassures our stakeholders that we are committed to reaching net-zero GHG emissions. IGT’s science-based targets provide us with a clearly defined approach to reducing our GHG emissions and mitigating the impact of climate change, all while ensuring sustainable growth for our business,” said Wendy Montgomery, IGT SVP, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability.

    As its near-term targets, IGT commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030, from 2019. The company also commits to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 30% within the same timeframe.

    Regarding its long-term science-based targets, IGT commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 90% by 2050, from 2019. The company also commits to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% within the same timeframe. IGT would then offset the residual 10% of emissions by 2050. Direct emissions reductions will be prioritised and all residual emissions will be neutralised in line with SBTi criteria before reaching net-zero emissions.

    The SBTi is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), World Resources Institute, World Wide Fund for Nature and one of the We Mean Business Coalition commitments. The SBTi defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting, offers resources and guidance to reduce barriers to adoption and independently assesses and approves companies’ targets. IGT has been a member of the UNGC since 2017 and has strengthened its relationship with the UN by adopting nine of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals and aligning them with its sustainability strategy.

    VIP Entertainment Technologies announced that it has been granted a Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) Remote Gaming License for operations in Canada. With the receipt of the KGC license, VIP is once again able to offer its iGaming services in Canada, excluding Ontario.

    Fanatics announced the appointment of Parag Agrawal to the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Fanatics Holdings Inc. In this newly created role, Agrawal will lead Fanatics’ internal digital systems transformation, which spans accounting, financial planning and analysis and human resources; create a dedicated IT infrastructure for the company’s corporate entity; and partner with the businesses to further enhance global IT capabilities across the Fanatics’ enterprise.

    North Carolina has become the latest state launch for award-winning global managed hosting, connectivity, cloud and security provider, Continent 8 Technologies. This comes ahead of North Carolina opening its doors to legal online sports betting for the first time in early 2024.

    The Brazilian government has issued a provisional decree to authorise sports betting and tax companies’ revenues by 18%. The move comes amid a sprawling investigation that ensnared dozens of players in a match-fixing scandal.

    Game of Silks, the first metaverse that mirrors the real world of thoroughbred horse racing, has added Ron Luniewski, a sports, gaming and entertainment veteran with a proven track record of success and growth, to its executive suite. Luniewski joins Silks from the gaming world where he established a reputation as a builder, leveraging emerging technology to initiate hyper growth for companies and lead them successfully through massive expansion.

    VICI Properties Inc. announced that it has completed the previously announced transaction to acquire an interest in the land and buildings associated with Rocky Gap Casino Resort, located in Flintstone, Maryland from Golden Entertainment Inc. for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $203.9 million in cash. The transaction was funded through a combination of cash on hand and proceeds from the partial settlement of forward equity sale agreements.

    Partnerships

    Fortune Coins Casino, owned by Blazesoft, has entered into a strategic partnership with Pragmatic Play, a leading content provider to the Gaming industry. Through the partnership, Fortune Coins will provide customers with immersive slots, bingo and other player-favourite gaming opportunities.

    Pro League Network and Brinx TV (Brinx.tv) will bring PLN’s made-for-wagering sports to a wider audience on the Brinx TV platform.
