Europe embraces shared poker liquidity

The contract between European jurisdictions associated with shared online poker liquidity has taken effect.

France, Portugal, Spain and Italy’s regulators have updated the status of shared online poker liquidity, advancing forward with steps for the execution of the international agreement. Last week the countries ‘gaming authorities published various communications disclosing the conditions and regulations to operate the market.

As per the international press, authorities of Spain and France have already established their merged online poker cash game and tournament tables. The entire details regarding this will be published before February. Meanwhile, Portugal “will join the shared tables shortly after the Spain-France launch,” confirms related sources.

But, for some politician’s unfounded concern on international money laundering, Italy is still delayed. For a time period of at least a year liquidity sharing could be delayed in Italy, since there has been serious resistance to the current terms.

Last year the authorities from France, Portugal, Spain and Italy, signed the international settlement as announced by major gaming regulator in Spain, DGOJ. Authorised operators could apply to the project in order to implement further strategies for the advancement of the industry. Once operators enter the online poker shared liquidity project, the companies’ businesses would be investigated by gaming regulators and the petition would be approved or denied.

The agreement has not come into force though it is a huge step for the international gaming industry. According to its regulatory requirements, each government will execute it.
