Playmaker Capital Bolsters Senior Leadership Team with Key Executive Appointments

Playmaker Capital announced that it has strengthened its senior leadership team with key talent in the US and Latin America. Playmaker has promoted Michael Bellom to Head of Revenue Operations, and Playmaker’s owned and operated Latin American and US Hispanic media business, Futbol Sites, has added Agustín Gutiérrez Scussel as Chief Technology Officer and Matias Paget as Head of Digital Product.
Michael Bellom joined Playmaker in April 2022 as part of its acquisition of US media business, The Sports Drop. In the newly formed Head of Revenue Operations role, Mr. Bellom will oversee Playmaker’s web monetisation, affiliate, commerce content and paid media activity. Based in New York, Mr. Bellom will manage a team focused on maximising monetisation capabilities across Playmaker’s web assets, as well as driving revenue and cost synergies across its ecosystem of media and affiliate brands. Mr. Bellom has expertise in affiliate marketing and paid media, which are growing segments of Playmaker’s diversified business model.
Agustín Gutiérrez Scussel joins Futbol Sites as Chief Technology Officer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mr. Gutiérrez Scussel brings to this role more than 15 years of experience working in the software industry in a variety of roles including as an engineer, a product lead and an architect in both Latin America and the US. Most recently, Mr. Gutiérrez Scussel served as Senior Engineering Manager at Swvl, a global provider of transformative tech-enabled mass transit solutions. Prior to Swvl, Mr. Gutiérrez Scussel was Chief Technology Officer at Viapool, a mass transit platform that leverages a proprietary tech stack to offer intracity commuting alternatives. Mr. Gutiérrez Scussel holds an MBA from IAE Business School and a Computer Engineering degree from Argentine University of Enterprise.
Matias Paget assumes the new role of Head of Digital Product at Futbol Sites and he will also be based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mr. Paget has more than 20 years of experience as a marketing and product lead, and business developer for digital media platforms. Most recently, Mr. Paget spent eight years at Argentina’s leading sports TV channel, TyC Sports, where he was responsible for establishing the product development and editorial strategy for its various digital properties.
