Las Vegas casinos’ income grew 191%

The incomes at the Las Vegas Strip casinos with a GGR of over US$1 million annually recorded a 191.4 per cent upgrade in the fiscal year to June 30.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) promulgated its 2017 Nevada Gaming Abstract and disclosed that Las Vegas Strip casinos with a GGR of more than US$1 million annually saw to its credit a revenue rise of 191.4 per cent during the fiscal year 2017 up to June 30, compared to the preceding year and attained the million mark of US$814.
The successive growth on the area’s substantial properties hit 3.9 per cent hike to about US$17.8 billion, while their GGR ascended by 3.1 per cent to US$6 billion. Though, the contribution to the whole Strip revenues went down 0.2 points to 34 per cent compared to the fiscal year 2016.
From all the operations Downtown Las Vegas venues in that group saw a net income increase of 111.3 per cent to US$110.3 million. When the total revenue for the area reached US$1.2 billion and rose by 10.3 per cent, the gaming revenue jumped 11.6 per cent to about US$613.2 million.
When assessing the whole Clark County’s performance, the NGCB revealed that slot machines were the main contributor to casino revenue with 63.4 per cent, followed by table games’ 32.6 per cent. Sports books (2.1 per cent) and poker rooms (0.5 per cent) came in last, according to the information revealed in the Abstract.
