Iowa casinos gear up for sports betting

The casinos in the state of Iowa are getting ready to welcome sports betting, as the talks are on about a potential legalisation of sports betting in the state.
Steve Nauman, General Manager of Wild Rose Casino and Resort, said: “I don’t know what’s going to happen with the election happening. There’s going to be some new faces. I don’t want to say we’re starting over as an industry but there’s a lot of new faces in there,” he added as he remains hopeful that the topic will be discussed in January.
“The incentive is to bring new people in,” he added. “It’s a younger crowd. Our clientele, a lot of it’s older. A younger generation, they need more activity to keep them going than a lot of our machines are.”
“It’s not like we think you bet on who’s going to win the game or there’s a point spread or you bet on how many points are going to be scored,” the official stated. “With this mobile device you’re betting on ‘Is he going to make this field goal?’ ‘Is he going to get a hit?’ ‘Are they going to get a first down?’ I mean it’s fluid,” he forecasted.
