Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a bill into law that will require casino operators to step up their identification of patrons in a bid to improve tax revenue.

It obliges the company to ensure the provision in the cashier’s receipt of the customer’s surname, first name, the series and number of the client’s passport or his taxpayer identification number. This data will allow the tax authorities to fully identify visitors of casinos and slot machine halls in order to calculate the amount of tax on their winnings.
