KSA imposes a €310k penalty on Casumo
Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), Netherlands’ regulatory body, has imposed a penalty of £310k on Casumo Services Ltd. for offering online games of chance to its Dutch customers despite it not getting legal status or required approvals from the government.
Casumo has been under the radar of regulators over the past few months. Last year, the UK Gambling Commission had fined the company for £5.85 million for not taking adequate steps to protect problem gamblers.
Casumo Services offer a wide range of online casino games along with live chat service in the Dutch language, along with the processing of payment using iDeal which is a leading payment processing service.
The crackdown on Casumo was the first ever since the text on the updated Gambling Act was updated by the Dutch government in its Official Gazette.
