Oregon Lottery Selects GeoComply for their Sports Betting Geolocation Compliance
GeoComply announced that the Oregon Lottery has selected GeoComply’s award-winning geolocation compliance solution for their online sports betting application. The Oregon Lottery is responsible for overseeing and regulating all sports betting in the state.
“Since the repeal of PASPA last year, we’ve worked hard to build the infrastructure, technology and regulatory framework to offer legal sports betting to players in Oregon,” says Oregon Lottery Spokesman Matt Shelby. “By choosing GeoComply as our geolocation compliance provider, we’re deploying a proven solution to ensure players have two feet in the state, and not on tribal lands, when they place a wager through our sports betting platform.”
“We are really excited to be working with the Oregon Lottery to support their launch of sports betting in the state,” says David Briggs, CEO of GeoComply. “Geolocation compliance is one of the cornerstones of the regulated online sports betting industry and with a significant number of anticipated users in Oregon living very close to state borders, our highly accurate solution will ensure that all eligible users within the state are able to participate.”
