Swiss Gaming Regulator Adds 35 More Websites to its Gambling Blacklist

Swiss gaming regulator Eidgenössische Spielbankenkommission (ESBK) has added 35 more websites to its gambling blacklist. The ESBK blacklist now contains 145 gaming sites. In September 2019, ESBK and (Swiss) Inter-Cantonal Lottery and Betting Commission (Comlot) published each a list of betting sites not permitted to operate in the country.
ESBK maintains and updates a blacklist within its area of responsibility according to Article 86 of the Geldspielgesetz, which permits the ESBK to request internet service providers to block access to platforms that are accessible in Switzerland but not licensed, using a domain name server lock.
What may seem strange is that top-ranked betting sites such as bet365, Unibet and videoslots.com belong to their lists. Other well-known gaming companies on the lists are 24bettle.com, bet-at-home.com, betclic.com, expekt.com, igame.com, interwetten.com and tipbet.com.
