Australia’s ACMA Moves to Block More Illegal Offshore Gambling Websites
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is set to request Australian internet service providers (ISPs) to block more illegal offshore gambling websites.
The sites to be blocked are Planet 7 Oz, Ace Pokies, Nordicasino, Reeltastic, Spintropolis, Enzo Casino, Times Square Casino and Royal Spinz.
Following numerous complaints about these services, including complaints about withholding winnings and poor player treatment, the ACMA undertook investigations that found them to be operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
Website blocking provides a valuable opportunity to alert the public to illegal gambling services through the messaging that appears when there is an attempt to access the site.
