Polish Authorities Issue Warning on Illegal Gambling
Poland’s Ministry of Finance and National Revenue Administration have issued a warning reminding residents that gambling illegally is a criminal offence subject to fines of up to PLN4.4m (€975,740).
Under article 23, sections one and three of Poland’s fiscal penal code, fines can cover the entire total of any winnings plus the money staked or lost – up to PLN4.4m.
The authorities also reminded players that slot machine gambling was only legal at licensed casinos or at arcades that have Totalizator Sportowego slot machines.
Last month, The Ministry of Finance and the National Revenue Administration issued a warning over illegal online gambling in Poland. The two bodies warned that Polish residents are breaking the Gambling Act if they participate in gambling outside Poland via unlicensed websites.
Poland’s blacklist of illegal gambling sites now lists around 15,000 sites, with recent additions including Agentspins.com, Nitrocasino.com and Campobet sites.
