2 August 2017, Budapest: The organizers of CEEGC2017 are are excited to announce two great speakers who will join the Innovation Talks Cryptocurrency panel. Especially since cryptocurrencies and most of all Bitcoin is the hottest topic at this moment.

With all the rumors and debates you could soon be witnessing that your checking account has second account, stocked with an equal amount of a newly created currency. This could happen to many people who hold the bitcoins today.

This is something that need to be taken into consideration, especially that just this week, a new currency called Bitcoin Cash is due to appear, split from bitcoin in a technical maneuver called a “hard fork.” It’s the project of a group that says bitcoin’s keepers are limiting its reach by resisting change.

The creation of Bitcoin Cash is the most striking result yet of a 2-year-old feud over bitcoin’s future. Bitcoin is collectively valued at $47 billion but remains a niche product. Backers of the new currency say it’s necessary if bitcoin is to make a real mark on how the world uses money.

Bitcoin Cash’s confusing origin and name is at the risk of making it harder for cryptocurrency to gain wider acceptance.

Adding to the confusion: Not everyone who holds bitcoin will get an instant stash of Bitcoin Cash today. Some leading bitcoin-storage services have said they won’t recognize the new currency, forcing people to move their business if they want to claim the new variety of cryptocoins.

So, with all this said, is the online gambling industry safe? Will this affect bitcoin gamblers worldwide? It is certainly something to be discussed during CEEGC 2017.

“Innovation Talks – The Cryptocurrency Effect”  panel is scheduled to be held between 12:00 – 13:00 (Budapest Local Time) on the 19th of September (Day 1) during the second edition of the Central and Eastern European Gaming Conference Budapest. (you can view the full agenda here).

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Joseph F. Borg, who is currently a Senior Advisor at a legal firm specializing in Gaming, WH Partners, and a vice president of BitMalta, an association that wants to raise awareness and support for the use of blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Borg’s previous working experience includes the position of Chief Regulatory Officer at the Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority (just Malta Gaming Authority now).

You can read more about the panel here.

The latest announced speakers of the panel are:

Jonathan Galea (Blockchain & cryptocurrencies lawyer, President of Bitmalta)

Jonathan’s considerable experience in the blockchain sector ranges from a close study on the developing regulation in the area to hands-on experience in the technical and economic aspects of cryptocurrencies, one of the most widely-adopted uses of the blockchain so far. Jonathan’s LL.D. (Doctorate of Laws) thesis was titled “The Effect of Bitcoin on Money Laundering Law”, and being completed in May 2015, it was one of the first ever legal theses on the subject. He has been following developments in the area for four years and moreover has also participated as a speaker in several conferences both in Malta and abroad, covering the legal, technical and economic aspects thereof.

Jonathan’s expertise consists of legal advice on regulatory matters related to blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies in general as well as technical advice on blockchains and platforms built on top of them (from a fundamental perspective). He is an active member in various crypto-communities and is experienced in both the mining and trading of cryptocurrencies.
Jonathan is also the president of Bitmalta, the first non-profit association in Malta dedicated to advocating the blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies with particular focus on the Maltese islands. Moreover, apart from completing various courses related to blockchain technologies and attending various seminars, Jonathan has also successfully completed the “Programming in C” course with Ice Malta, thus giving him further insight on the intricacies of programming languages since C served as a basis for most modern languages.

Eman Pulis (Founder and CEO of SiGMA & AGS)

An entrepreneur who loves life, takes calculated risks and lives by the motto, ‘Pray often. Use words if necessary’.

Eman is also a partner in BonusVikings, an affiliate venture focusing on European and Asian markets, mainly gaming and binary products. He also co-founded SMSwarriors.com, an affiliate software for SMS marketing.

Eman graduated with first class honors in 2001 with a Bachelor of Education degree. He holds a Masters Degree in Creativity and Innovation as well as a Masters Degree in Diplomatic Studies.
