Bird & Bird gains unprecedented international recognition for mid and small-cap M&A work in Thomson Reuters rankings for H1 2017

Bird & Bird’s international Corporate group has reached the highest rankings to date in the annual Thomson Reuters mid-market and small-cap M&A legal advisory reviews for the first half of 2017, being ranked in 17 league tables globally.
The international team was recognised for its mid-market M&A involvement (on deals valued up to $500 million) and for its small-cap involvement (up to $50 million) globally as well as for Europe, the Benelux, Eastern Europe, the Nordics, and individually for France, Japan, Singapore, Spain and the UK.
The group’s rankings span from first place (the Nordics) to the top 50 with most rankings significantly improved compared with last year, notably in the Nordics, Japan and Singapore but also globally, for Europe, France, and Benelux. Rankings in the Nordics deserve a special mention as there the firm moved from the top 10 to second and first place for mid-cap and small-cap deals respectively, its highest rankings to date. The firm also made a first-time appearance in the annual M&A rankings for Eastern Europe.
Peter Veranneman (Germany) and Stefano Silvestri (Italy), partners and joint heads of Bird & Bird’s international Corporate group say: “The firm’s consistent presence in the top 50 M&A rankings is a substantial achievement of our ambitions to be involved in more complex deals globally, despite the strong competition on the M&A market. This further reflects our increasingly more extensive cross-border expertise in Europe and beyond and a particular strength in the technology-rich Nordics region, of which we are especially proud.“
