DraftKings is interested in Ireland

The American daily fantasy sports enterprise have announced they are planning on opening their services in Ireland before the end of the year.
DraftKing’s plans were reported merely weeks after their merger with FanDuel was snubbed by the Federal Trade Commission over claims that it would destroy competition in the US DFS market.
Jeffrey Haas, DraftKings’ chief international officer, told the Irish government that his company were interested in expanding onto the Emerald Isle after research showed there was a demand for fantasy sports there.
Haas also presented documents relating to tax reviews and wrote a letter to Ireland’s Finance Department which asked for a four to five percent tax to be imposed on the net revenues that skill games operators produce and the government’s consideration on allowing DFS into their nation.
The letter read: “Irish sports fans are incredibly passionate and they make themselves known wherever they are found. I’ve seen that attending a lot of Liverpool matches at Anfield Stadium. I know Liverpool FC is very popular in Ireland and we have a great partnership with Liverpool.”
