SUPERBET WINS BEST OVERALL SPORTS BETTING OPERATOR AT CEEGC Awards 2017
The Central and Eastern Europe Gaming Conference ended with an award ceremony that celebrated excellence in the Betting & Gaming industry in the regulated markets from CEE and the Balkan region/the Balkans. Betfair, Fortuna, NetBet (last year’s winner), Superbet and Unibet made the shortlist for the most important award. The final judgement (a sealed-envelope voting process) was done by the event’s dedicated panel of industry experts, and resulted in Superbet being crowned as champion. A major triumph for the Sportsbook Operator in this event that is considered to be the most prominent event in sports betting in Central and Eastern Europe. At its second edition, the two-day international conference (19 and 20 September) brought together 79 companies from 29 countries and 50 speakers.
“This is a great acknowledgement of our hard work and dedication in building a great product for the International market and confirms that officially, Superbet is now playing in another league. ” said Vlad Ardeleanu, General Manager of Superbet Romania.
This is the first international success for the company. Superbet is already an established brand in Romania, where the company operates over 600 retail shops and the betting portal www.superbet.ro. The company has more than 3,000 employees in the offices in Romania (including the headquarter), and starting with 2015 in Serbia, Croatia, Malta, Poland and the UK.
Recently, Superbet announced that the company is in the last stage of the negotiations to obtain an online gambling licence in Gibraltar. With this license, Superbet will become the first business from the Central and Eastern European region to join the Gibraltar licensed brands (Bet365, William Hill, Ladbrokes among them), subject to the world’s strictest online gambling legislation. While planning to develop its online sports betting business, Superbet has opened already an office in Gibraltar, and the next step will be to hire more people – from 20 this year to 50 by the end of next year.
Superbet is set to launch its online and offline operations in Poland until this December. To this end, the Romanian company speeded up the efforts and recruited an entire team of senior managers from a rival operator in Poland. In Poland, Superbet plans to open 80 agencies by the end of this year, and to reach 120 locations by the time of 2018 FIFA World Cup’s kick off, on the 14th of June, 2018.
Besides Gibraltar and Poland, Superbet also targets other neighboring (Czech) and Western European markets.
