Zynga hands top legal role to Phillips

Social games developer Zynga has appointed Phuong Phillips as its new chief legal officer.
In her new role, Phuonh Phillips will oversee legal affairs and government relations for the company, reporting directly to chief executive Frank Gibeau.
Phillips has spent almost 15 years working in the technology and clean energy industry, previously serving as associate general counsel for Tesla. In addition, Phillips has had spells with clean energy company SolarCity, as well as Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
“Zynga’s passionate employees, combined with its popular forever franchises like ‘Words With Friends’, ‘Zynga Poker’ and ‘CSR2’, make it one of the most dynamic mobile gaming companies around,” Phillips said.
“I’m excited to lead Zynga Legal, and partner with teams across the company to deliver players their favourite social mobile gaming experiences.”
Gibeau added: “I’m excited to welcome Phuong to Zynga; she has a proven track record of navigating complex and evolving industries, while working closely with teams to drive positive business outcomes.”
