Bird & Bird expands its Competition & EU team in Madrid by appointing Patricia Liñán as partner
International law firm Bird & Bird LLP appoints leading Spanish competition & EU specialist Patricia Liñán as a partner who will join the firm in the coming weeks. Patricia will primarily be based in our Madrid office and will divide her time between the firm’s offices in Madrid and Brussels.
Patricia joins from CMS Albiñana & Suárez De Lezo where she was Partner and Head of the EU and Competition Law Department.
Patricia advises companies in proceedings before the Spanish Competition Authority and the European Commission in both antitrust and merger control proceedings. Her most recent work focuses around antitrust damages claims in Spain as well as compliance matters.
Patricia’s recruitment will reinforce our Spanish Competition & EU Law practice by joining forces with partner José Rivas and further expand the firm’s growing global Competition team.
Coral Yáñez, Co-Head of the Madrid office at Bird & Bird says: “The Bird & Bird team in Madrid is delighted to have Patricia on board and is looking forward to working even more closely with the Competition & EU Law team in Brussels and internationally.“
José Rivas, Co-Head of the global Competition & EU Law practice at Bird & Bird says: “We are thrilled to welcome Patricia to Bird & Bird. Having another Spanish competition partner with such long-standing experience will strengthen our offering to Spanish corporates from our offices in Madrid and in Brussels and will further intensify the links between our competition teams in both locations.“
Patricia added: “Joining Bird & Bird is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of the firm’s dynamic and growing competition team. I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues in both Brussels and Madrid, notably, José whom I have respected for many years as a top notch practitioner.“
