Detroit casinos increase revenue

The three casinos in Detroit increase aggregate revenue by 1.4 percent year-over-year in November.
According to information released on Tuesday by the Michigan Gaming Control Board, the three gambling facilities in Detroit increased aggregate revenue 0.4 percent in November from October operations, whilst they rose 1.4 percent year-over-year.
MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino Hotel and Greektown Casino-Hotel totaled US$112 million in November in aggregate revenue, being 1.2 percent up during the first 11 months of the year when compared to the same period a year before.
MotorCity reported a 2.7 percent increase to US$38.2 million in Nobember, whilst MGM totaled US$48.6 million, or a 0.8 percent hike during that period. Greektown experienced the lowest increase to 0.7 percent to US$26.3 million during last month’s operations. When it comes to market share, MGM totaled 43 percent, followed by MotorCity at 34 percent and Greektown with 23 percent.
Moreover, the facilities paid US$9.2 million in gaming taxes to Michigan, approximately US$200k more than November 2016. US$18.3 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments went to Detroit, the local gaming control board said in a report.
