SIS chairman Devlin to take over at William Hill
SIS chairman Roger Devlin has been selected to replace Gareth Davis as William Hill chairman from April.
Devlin will leave SIS to join the William Hill board as chairman designate on February 1 and, following an induction and handover, will be appointed chairman on April 2 when Davis will stand down.
Devlin is currently chairman of Sports Information Systems (SIS), where William Hill plc is a 19.5% shareholder, and a non-executive director of the Football Association but will step down from both these roles in January and June 2018 respectively.
Devlin has been chairman of leading pub operator and brewer Marston’s since 2013 and was chairman of gaming operator and developer Gamesys between 2006 and 2016.
In a statement William Hill said: “Roger has extensive experience as an executive, non-executive and chairman in listed companies, including relevant experience of a number of businesses and organisations in leisure, sport and betting and gaming.”
Devlin spent more than 10 years with Hilton Group as group corporate development director and an executive committee member.
Davis became chairman of William Hill in 2010.
In a statement that confirmed Devlin’s departure, SIS said: “The board offers its congratulations to Mr Devlin, and looks forward to continuing to work with him in his new role at William Hill. The board has started the search for a new chair, and expects to make an announcement in the new year.“
