Japan all set to sell lottery tickets online
The Japanese government legalised the sale of online lottery tickets from next October in an attempt to foster the business.
Hats off to the Internet, that propels the iGaming industry and helps it to persistently grow worldwide as gamblers go for the play online option while staying at home. This highly influenced the Japanese government to sell lottery tickets online from next October.
This news was given out to the public on Friday by the Internal Affairs Ministry and was designed with keeping in mind the fostering of lottery sales. The most public-run lotteries will be available online. Prior to buying any tickets, gamblers will be required to register online and link their account to a designated bank account, into which they will receive any winnings.
The government expects to turn around the downward trend that lottery sales have experienced since its peak in 2005. In 2016 sales barely reached €6.2 billion and that is why authorities expect to get a boost from internet presence as the younger generations and unlimited business hours are set to provide more possibilities for lotteries.
