Slots boost gaming growth in Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has reported a US$16m rise in slot machine revenue for the fiscal year 2017/18.
This is a remarkable stat, as it is the eighth consecutive year in which slot machine revenue crosses over $2.3bn.
The revenue rise denotes a 0.7 per cent surge in the 12 casinos of the state. The overall slots revenue was $2.352bn against $2.336bn in the previous year. Tax revenue totalled $1.192bn from those slots. The figures for table games will be released later this month.
Casinos have been established in Pennsylvania since the end of 2006 and during that time a total of $13.3bn in taxes has been taken from the slots alone.
Yielding the highest gross revenues from slots is the Parx Casino, followed by the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem. In June of this year alone, the Parx generated $34.8m gross from its slots, a 10.37 per cent change.
