bwin teams up with footballer Eden Hazard

The Hazard Series Sit & Go tournament will offer nine players the opportunity to qualify to sit down and play with Hazard for a £10k prize pool.
“I’m excited to be launching the Hazard Series with bwin,” Hazard commented. “I really enjoy poker and the unique psychological challenge it offers me. More importantly, it’s great that through the Hazard Series bwin will be supporting such a vital charity as One Drop. Let’s play together and change the game.”
Qualification for the Play with Eden event is free via weekly Sunday night freeroll tournaments up until September 9th.
bwin is also donating €1 for every player that enters a freeroll to charity partner One Drop, which works in countries around the world to provide life-changing access to safe water and sanitation.
“We wanted to reinvigorate bwin’s poker offer and with the Hazard Series we have done just that,” said bwin chief marketing officer Adam Lewis. “Eden is quite simply world class and we think we have built a new series that does him justice.
“It is a great pleasure that, at the same time, we can help support One Drop and the incredible work they do to improve the lives of some of the poorest people in our global community.”
To kick off the campaign, bwin is guaranteeing One Drop a minimum of €50,000, building up to a possible maximum of €200,000, depending on the number of entrants.
The Hazard Series also gives players the chance to win a place to represent Eden on Team Hazard at the UK Millions tournament in Nottingham, which begins in September. Regular tournament buy-ins start at $1 to win a £5,300 seat at the UK Millions main event, featuring a guaranteed prize pool of £5m.
“We are delighted that bwin is supporting our mission to provide safe water and sanitation to the most vulnerable communities around the world,” said Alexandre Meunier, senior director of special initiatives for One Drop.
“Partnering with an international organization such as bwin will bring much needed funds to the sector and will help raise awareness around the global water and sanitation crisis. Once again the poker community shows its commitment towards achieving universal and equitable access to safe water for all by 2030.”
