Malaysian police arrests nine for illegal online gambling
Malaysian police booked nine individuals and seized electronic devices after cracking down an office that was acting as a back-office for online gambling.
Sarawak CID chief SAC Denis Leong said:
“The team arrested a manager and eight of his workers, aged in their 20s and 30s, and also seized 18 computers, servers and various electronic devices.”
He said no cash was found at the premises as its function was to process bets for online gambling activities.
Police will be applying for a remand order against all the suspects for further investigation under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953, Leong added.
