Svenska Spel appoints Scarlett Roa as sustainability manager
Svenska Spel, the Swedish gambling regulator, has recruited Scarlett Roa as the new sustainability manager after a long hiring process in which the company evaluated both external and internal applicants. She will assume charge on 1 October 2018.
The sustainability manager will be responsible for group’s sustainability and gaming responsibilities. She has studied law and the environment, innovation design and communication. Previously she had worked as business adviser and sustainability manager at Almi.
“I am extremely pleased that Scarlett will start playing Svenska Spel. She has a lot to contribute and comes in with a broad competence and background that will strengthen our already unobtrusive position in gaming responsibility and sustainability, “says Joakim Mörnefält, Communications and Sustainability Director at Svenska Spel.
“It is with great joy, pride and humility I take on the role of New Sustainability Manager for Svenska Spel. We have an exciting time ahead of us with a new gaming legislation that will come into force at the turn of the year and will place higher demands on all players in the market. I look forward to working with the employees at Svenska Spel to continue to develop the Group’s gaming responsibility work and to lead the way in sustainability, including business ethics and anti-corruption issues, as well as gender equality and diversity,” says Scarlett Roa.
Scarlett Roa succeeds Zenita Strandänger who left Svenska Spel earlier this fall. The service as Sustainability Manager is included in Communication and Sustainability and reports to Communication and Sustainability Director Joakim Mörnefält.
Earlier this month Kindred Group urged the Swedish government to go a step further and sell the state-owned Svenska Spel’s online branch.
