Police arrests six persons for illegal gambling in Massachusetts
The police in Boston, Massachusetts, has arrested six individuals and charged a Swansea vending machine company called Televend for running a gambling and money-laundering scheme. The Attorney General Maura Healey says that the defendants distributed illegal gambling devices to dozens of establishments throughout south eastern Massachusetts through Televend that operated like casino slot machines and “were in direct competition with Lottery products and for customers who opted to play the games.”
Between May and June, a series of raids by state police shut down the criminal enterprise, seized dozens of machines and recovered more than $140,000 cash.
