Hokkaido to host IR showcase event in November

Hokkaido, one of the largest southern islands in Japan, will host an IR showcase event in November. This is significant for the following reason.
After the passage of IR bill in the Japanese parliament, it is sure that casino industry will land in Japan in three locations. But the identity of those three locations is not still clear. The Hokkaido, scheduled to be held on November 30 to December 1, will see further discussions and engagement from all the parties concerned with IR development in the island.
The event’s organisers say that all the three mayors of the local municipalities will be present. The mayors are expected to seek support of the prefectural government in making IR bids. A similar event was held in Osaka back in April, even before the eventual passage of the bill. The event is also expected to allow participating companies to discuss their experience and achievements. It will also give an opportunity for tourist associations to promote their local areas.
On the first day of the event, there will be business-to-business activity day, while the second and final day will see public involvement on discussions.
