Mississippi governor announces lottery board members

Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant has announced the names of board members who will supervise the formation and operation of a local lottery. The chosen board includes three business people, a lobbyist and an educator. The nominees were chosen after local lawmakers passed the bill to the creation of the game of chance.
During a press statement, Bryant said thanked the five highly-qualified individuals for accepting the responsibility of the Mississippi Lottery Corporation Board of Directors by accepting the appointments. “This group has exceptional experience in diverse sectors of public and private business, and I know they will carry out the affairs of the board effectively.”
Senators will analyse and confirm the appointment of the nominees during the next legislative session that starts in January, but the executives can serve until then without confirmation.
