Big illegal gambling ring busted in Houston
In a major breakthrough in curbing illegal gambling, the police in Northwest Houston have cracked a big racket. The police have seised approximately 100 gambling devices and about $14,000 in the process.
A person called Tie Tran, who allegedly ran the racket, was arrested.
Two gambling room employees, Hieu Truong and Luis Nunez, were arrested at one of the game rooms and charged with engaging with criminal activity. Three other game room employees Alex Nguyen, Jason Doa, and Tuan Tran were charged with engaging with criminal activity and are still wanted by law enforcement, the release stated.
Two customers, Sherilyn Mench and Kelly Stansel, have also been arrested.
The gambling devices and proceeds were seised from both Tran’s home and the game rooms.
