Casino revenues rise in Nevada

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has reported statewide casino gaming revenue for October. The overall revenue reached $1.06b, showing an improvement of 7.5 per cent over the same month last year. This is also the first month since May that a single month’s revenue crossed the billion mark. The revenue rose steeply on the Las Vegas Strip by 12.2 per cent to touch $593.4m.
Statewide slot machine revenue increased by 5.7 per cent to $693.5m and overall “table, counter and card games” revenue rose by10.8 per cent to $369.3m.
Blackjack revenues jumped by 40 per cent to touch $125.5m, while Roulette revenues surged by 21.5 per cent to reach $40.4m. Apart from Baccarat, whose revenues fell by 13 per cent, all other games showed gains in revenue. The state’s sportsbooks showed a downward trend in revenues, as the earning dropped to $29.5m in October, from $31.5m in the same month last year. Football betting revenue dropped off by 28.3 per cent to $11.3m, while basketball revenue slided by nearly 25 per cent to $3.7m.
