In Las Vegas, a city built upon gambling and nightlife, it’s almost unheard of for an advertising agency to survive without a single casino or entertainment client.

But how does a franchise marketing agency wind up in a city like Las Vegas where the franchisors are very few and casinos are king?
“We [Justin and I] had both previously worked in casino advertising,” said Susan Baloun, Wheat Creative Partner. “We liked the idea of helping clients who were helping the economy in a different way – by fueling small business growth.”
A small business itself, Wheat Creative now employs 10 people and is the only marketing agency of its kind in Las Vegas, which has been both an advantage and a challenge.
“Our employees have a big learning curve in the beginning. Franchise recruitment marketing is not a ‘sexy’ industry but that doesn’t mean it’s not creative,” said Justin Baloun, Wheat Creative Founder. “While most agencies are trying to convince consumers to spend their lunch money, we’re convincing them to invest their life savings. That’s powerful stuff.”
