Cirsa Gaming reports 6.7 per cent rise in profit

Cirsa Gaming Corporation, the top Spanish gaming machine and casinos operator, has reported an operating profit of €95m for the third quarter of 2018. This represents a 6.7 per cent increase on 2017. The company’s overall income rose by 5.3 per cent to €367.3m.
The company achieved the growth in spite of the downward fluctuations in Latin American currencies against the euro.
The slots division in Spain increased revenues over the previous year. The main driver was fresh regulation in Andalucia and the success of the machines Pearl of the Caribbean and On the Rocks.
In Italy, the company did well with both its AWP and VLT machines despite regulation changes forcing down the number of Cirsa AWP machines by 20 per cent and fresh tax increases.
In bingo the traditional game in Spain and AWPs in bingo halls saw progress and there was remodelling of the halls in Andalucia while Bingo Salou in Tarragona was added to the company’s holdings in the year. This venue holds 325 players and has 42 machines.
The revenue from casinos in Mexico too has increased.
The Sportium sports book division witnessed a hike in revenues, mainly due to the World Cup in Russia.
