iDEA Growth Statement On DC Council Passing Sports Betting

MOBILE BETTING PROVIDES CONVENIENCE AND CONSUMER SAFEGUARDS
Upon passage of the “Sports Wagering Lottery Amendment Act of 2018” in the Council of the District of Columbia, iDEA Growth founder, Jeff Ifrah released the following statement:
“Legalizing sports betting allows D.C. betting enthusiasts to engage in their favorite pastime online and from their phone, allowing for convenience and mobility, but most importantly in a secure environment under regulated consumer protections. With passage of this bill, the Council has recognized the importance of replacing the offshore industry with an onshore industry that protects consumers and provides important safeguards. We hope that D.C. will follow the lead of other states and encourage competition among operators.”
