Overseas tourists flock to Sochi’s casinos

It has been reported that the number of foreign tourists visiting casinos in the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone in Sochi, Russia, has increased by 11 per cent in 2018. It is estimated that 850 thousand people from 146 countries have visited the casinos in the region over the last two years.
Dmitry Anfinogenov, director for development of the gambling zone Krasnaya Polyana, said: “In 2019, the tourist traffic to Krasnaya Polyana is expected to increase by at least 10 per cent. The priority task of the gambling zone in 2019 is to establish direct flights with countries such as China, India and the United Arab Emirates. Gambling is banned in all these three countries, but the demand for gambling has remained, so players will be able to gamble both in Las Vegas, Macau, Monaco, and in Sochi.”
