Indiana to Launch Sports Betting in September

The regulators in Indiana are planning to launch sports betting by September 1. The state issued emergency regulations this week to speed up the process. Indiana legalises sports betting in May 2019.
Indiana sports betting taxes are set at 9.5% of the adjusted gross. Part of it will be provided for the treatment of problem gamblers. Vendors will have to pay an initial US$100k fee, with a US$50 renewal fee. Bets could be placed by anyone aged 21 or older at casinos or mobile once a player registers at local casinos.
“By modernising our laws, this legislation will spur positive economic growth for our state and for an industry that employs over 11,000 Hoosiers. Additionally, it will bring in new revenue and create hundreds of new jobs — both permanent and in construction,” Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb said.
