G2 Esports (G2), the leading entertainment organization in esports, and nicecactus.gg, a competitive gaming platform dedicated to finding and raising the next generation of esports athletes, announced today the second edition of Making the Squad. Making the Squad 2, a Teamfight Tactics (TFT) based talent show, will bring together seven contestants from around the world to face off in a variety of challenges in G2’s home turf of Berlin, Germany. The most entertaining and talented TFT player will walk away with a $10,000 grand prize, a trip to an upcoming G2 Esports’ event with paid travel and accommodation, and a chance to secure a spot as one of G2’s official content creators.
The talent show will take place over the course of one week where the contestants will compete against one another in a series of creative challenges that showcase their ability to entertain, captivate, persevere and put their creativity to the test. Additionally, each of the seven contestants will receive a welcome package with signed G2 merchandise and gifts from nicecactus.gg and other G2 partners.
“Making The Squad was so successful that we couldn’t wait to start producing the second edition. TFT has an incredibly engaged and passionate community, and since this amazing game came out, we’ve been trying to cater to it as much as possible. Hafu, Thijs, Lothar and other competitors and creators of ours have been able to develop a community around this game and we can’t wait to give them back some value,†said G2 Esports CEO Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodriguez. “It doesn’t matter how big or small you are, we’re looking for the most entertaining and community-driven TFT players out there. Show us what you got!â€
Now through November 8th, TFT fans can enter ‘Making the Squad 2’ by visiting the website, uploading a short video showcasing their personality and reason behind participating in Making the Squad 2 and submitting a written description about their history with G2 Esports and experience as a content creator. G2 Esports CEO Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodriguez, nicecactus.gg Director of Esports, Jordan Savelli and other special guests will make up the judging panel tasked with selecting and narrowing down the seven finalists.
“Making the Squad 2 is another avenue for nicecactus.gg to deliver on its mission of supporting the grassroots and amateur esports community,†commented Jordan Savelli, Director of Esports at nicecactus.gg. “We have TFT fans using our platform and competing in our weekly cash-prize tournaments, so we are excited to partner with G2 Esports to discover and bring up-and-coming TFT competitors into the spotlight.â€
