Recognition for UK National Lottery Operator Camelot for Supporting Responsible Gambling
UK’s National Lottery operator Camelot UK has been recognised for its sustained support to responsible gambling.
The company has been awarded Advanced Level 2 of GamCare’s Safer Gambling Standard for both its online and retail operations. This is the first time an online gaming operator is getting this recognition.
GamCare provides Safer Gambling Standard to operators based on the social responsibility quality standard of licensed gambling operators. The award is specifically for operators who promote responsible gambling and implement safe gambling practices.
Alison Gardner, Head of Corporate Responsibility of Camelot UK, said: “Camelot has developed tools and programs to promote healthy play to all our players, as we continue to make the National Lottery the safest environment to play. Achieving Advanced Level 2 of the GamCare Safer Gambling Standard endorses our work in this area, and is an important part of our overall strategy, as we continue to improve how we support our players, encourage healthy play and prevent underage play.”
The award came following the UK Gambling charity GamCare’s three-month accreditation process. The process involved a comprehensive review of Camelot’s policies to ensure responsible gambling. The gambling charity also reviewed the gambling operator’s website and it also visited the Lottery retailers.
Explaining why they chose Camelot, Gamble Aware said that Camelot had their responsible gambling efforts in place and that it is “well integrated into Camelot’s culture.”
