Delta Corp to Start Casino Operations in Nepal

Delta Corp, the largest gaming operator in India, has said that it will commence operations of a casino at the Marriot Hotel in Kathmandu “soon” after being issued a Nepal casino license.
The update follows an October 2017 announcement that Delta Corp had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Everest Hospitality and Hotel, the owners of the Marriot in Kathmandu, to lease space for the operation of a casino. The company said at the time that it was looking to “expand its imprint outside India.”
Under Nepalese law, licensed casinos must be attached to a five-star hotel. There are currently six licensed casinos operating in Nepal of which five are located in Kathmandu.
Delta Corp did not provide any detail on exactly when its impending casino launch would take place.
