Microgaming supports YGAM in its vision to prevent gambling-related harm

YGAM, the charity which works to inform young people of the risks of gaming and gambling related harm, has been recognised by leading software supplier Microgaming for the resilience itâs shown in continuing to deliver its acclaimed educational programme despite COVID-19, as well as its ability to deliver content in what it describes as âan engaging, authentic and insightful manner.â
Isle of Man-based Microgaming , which assisted YGAM with the creation and design of a digital interactive webinar presentation to support its activities during lockdown, recently celebrated its third anniversary of supporting the national charity.
âPromoting CSR and safer gambling, as well as supporting the local community is hugely important to us at Microgaming,â stated Kimberley Broad, Director of Compliance at Microgaming. âSince Microgaming and YGAM started their relationship in 2017, the charity has continued to flourish and grow into an incredibly important organisation, one which is committed to raising awareness and increasing resilience against gambling-related harm.
âWhat Microgaming admires most about YGAMâs work is the ability for others to learn from their lived experiences, as shared by co-founders Lee, Keith and Ann, and focus that into ensuring young and vulnerable people are properly educated on gambling-related harm. It is important for gambling firms within the industry to continue to support charities such as YGAM.â
Kimberley concluded: âThrough PlayItForward, our CSR programme, Microgaming has been able to support charities with financial and practical support , including volunteering efforts, to help with projects that will assist them in achieving their goals and continue the good work they do. This not only supports the charity, but also provides Microgaming staff with a sense of pride and achievement.â
Lee Willows, chief executive and co-founder of YGAM, added: âWe are so grateful for Microgamingâs ongoing support. Itâs vital that organisations such as ours continue to collaborate in order to carry on making a really significant impact with young people and their families. As a small charity, we benefit hugely from their support to achieve our social purpose.
âI am always really pleased to talk with the industry and to demonstrate how its support and RET contributions enable the dedicated YGAM team to extend our collective reach. The industry has an open invitation to experience one of our workshops and see how we put the great support that we receive into activities that deliver tangible results.â
In collaboration with GamCare, YGAM is delivering the UKâs ground-breaking National Gambling Education and Harm Prevention Programme. Supported by members of the Betting and Gaming Council, the ÂŁ10 million programme will reach over three million young people to raise awareness of the risks of potential gaming and gambling related harms.
