Allwyn Aims to Become First Net-zero Carbon Lottery Company
Allwyn, the UK corporate identity of Sazka Group, has announced its goal to become a net-zero carbon company by 2030 or earlier. If the operator achieves its goal, it will become the first net-zero lottery company.
With the group currently in the race for the fourth UK National Lottery licence, it has agreed to align itself with the United Nations’ Race to Zero. In addition, it has also signed the Planet Mark Zero Carbon Commitment to pledge to achieve net-zero.
“Combating climate change is the issue of our generation. Every human activity creates carbon emissions – even buying a lottery ticket. Addressing that, achieving net-zero is not someone else’s problem, it is everyone’s responsibility. The business has a vital role to play,” Sir Keith Mills, Chairman of Allwyn, said.
“We are delighted Allwyn are making a net-zero commitment with the UN-backed Race to Zero campaign, the world’s largest coalition of organisations committed to reducing their carbon emissions across all scopes in line with the Paris Climate Agreement,” Steve Malkin, Founder and CEO of Planet Mark, said.
“No matter what stage a business is at on its net-zero journey, from setting a baseline, to a target, to creating the action plan needed to get there, Planet Mark is here to support all the way and we’re looking forward to supporting Allwyn on that journey,” Steve Malkin added.
