Rank Group CEO joins Reputation Matters, as summit returns for 2021 London renewal
Renowned City of London venue and keynote speaker secured for a November conference that will address all the burning issues of the UK government’s Gambling Act Review
Clear Concise Media, a leading content and events provider for the sports betting and gaming industry, is pleased to announce the latest edition of its progressive Reputation Matters series, “UK Gambling’s Future At Stake”, which will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday 2 November at Ironmongers’ Hall in the City of London.
The event will be kicked off with a keynote speech from John O’Reilly, chief executive at Rank Group, who will set the scene for the afternoon at what is a crucial juncture for the sector.
With the outcome of the British Government’s Review of the Gambling Act imminent, this timely series of speakers and panels will assess how the sector can survive and thrive in the shifting landscape that will inevitably follow the Review. Discussion points will pivot around where the sector stands on the pressing issue of the maintenance of its relationship with its regulator, and how it can credibly evidence its sustainability credentials to investors.
“The Gambling Act Review is obviously top of mind right now, so Clear Concise Media is thrilled to be putting together an in-person event that will be addressing some of the most significant areas of debate surrounding the future of the UK gambling sector right now,” said Scott Longley from organisers Clear Concise Media.
“Even as we rebound from the pandemic, public opinion and regulatory challenges haven’t gone away. I’m particularly excited that John O’Reilly will be presenting the keynote; he brings with him such a wealth of experience and I think the attendees will be very interested in what he has to say.”
This Reputation Matters conference is supported once again by two leading sponsors in legal practice, Wiggin LLP, and financial services firm, Goodbody.
“After a prolonged period of regulatory uncertainty, we hope the Review will result in clear, evidence-based regulation that finds the right balance between consumer protection, individual freedoms and the economic sustainability of the industry. It is such an interesting time to bring together an array of prominent industry stakeholders to discuss the issues arising from the Review, particularly considering the stall set out by the Commission in the recent past,” said Steve Ketteley, co-head of the Betting and Gaming Team at Wiggin LLP.
“Goodbody is delighted to be sponsoring Reputation Matters again,” said Piers Coombs, head of the London office at Goodbody. “This is an important thought leadership event for the gambling industry in the UK and Clear Concise Media has arranged for an expert panel from a wide range of stakeholders to address key issues we all need to understand.”
A stellar Reputation Matters line-up includes:
John O’Reilly (Rank Group), Ian Ince (Playtech), Sue Albion (Flutter Entertainment), Steve Ketteley (Wiggin), Oliver Rowe (YouGov), Camilla Wright (Red Knot Communications), Dan Waugh (Regulus Partners), Adam Brickell (Flutter Entertainment), Gavin Kelleher (Goodbody), Kirsty Caldwell (Betsmart Consulting), James Harrsion (Partis), Kelly Kehn (AlI-In Diversity), Richard Bayliss (Playtech), Kelly Perry (Edison) and Lawrence Gosling (ESG Clarity).
