SIS unveils two non-executive directors
New appointments will boost overseas push
SIS (Sports Information Services), the leading multi-channel supplier of 24/7 live betting services, has appointed two new non-executive directors to support its international expansion.
Dr Laila Mintas is currently CEO of Play Up USA and is a former Deputy President of Sportradar USA. She has spent over 15 years in the betting and gaming industry and is an expert in the legislation and regulation of sports betting. Based in Las Vegas, Dr Mintas is prominent in the United States and will be invaluable in supporting the US business as legislation for fixed odds betting starts to be approved.
Dr Mintas will be joined by Giovanna D’Esposito, who is currently General Manager (Southern Europe) for Uber. She previously held managing director roles in Italy for Sky Betting and Paddy Power Betfair, growing the latter to an annual turnover of over $300m and more than 100 employees in less than a year. Ms D’Esposito has extensive experience in complex, multi-jurisdiction businesses and brings high level operational excellence to bear.
Both women bring many years’ experience of working at some of the world’s leading data and technology companies to their roles and add significant strength to the SIS board at an exciting time for the business.
SIS Chief Executive Officer, Richard Ames, said: “Laila and Giovanna are both tremendous signings for SIS. We are very much looking forward to working with them and tapping into a combined knowledge that will have serious benefits to our work outside the UK.
“Laila joins following the announcement of our US subsidiary, SIS Content Service Inc, and will be an invaluable support to the team there, whilst Giovanna provides a real boost in European online markets and beyond at a time when our international expansion continues apace.”
Dr Mintas said: “These are exciting times for everybody at SIS and I am keen to help them exploit both 30 years’ experience in the UK market and a great portfolio of products and services in the coming months.
Ms D’Esposito added: “It is an honour to be asked to be a non-exec at SIS and I am eager to get started with Richard and his team as they make further strides in international markets.”
Simon Johnson, Chair of SIS said: “I am delighted to welcome Laila and Giovanna to the Board of SIS. They bring a breadth of experience and expertise, which will enhance our diversification and growth strategy. Along with the recent announcements of our investment in RACELAB Global and the establishment of SIS Content Services Inc, the addition of two such highly skilled professionals to our Board will help to drive the growth of SIS into the future.”
