GamCare has announced changes to its Executive Leadership Team, appointing Rachel (Ray) Hassan as the permanent Director of Quality & Innovation and Fiona MacLeod as the new Clinical & Communities Director.
Ray joined GamCare as a member of the Senior Management Team (since renamed ‘Wider Leadership Team’) in 2019 and has supported GamCare in developing and implementing a Quality Management Framework that continues to set a high standard of excellence across the UK gambling treatment system. Ray’s experience has spanned over two decades, working in several leading voluntary sector organisations, delivering frontline drug and alcohol treatment and education services, often working in partnership with the NHS. In her new role, Rachel will continue to focus on quality and innovation, ensuring that we deliver our strategic objectives in this area of work.
Fiona also joined GamCare in 2019 as Senior Manager for the National Gambling Helpline, where she has been at the helm of the helpline and our online support, ensuring our provision is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for people and affected others experiencing gambling harm. Fiona has a wide-ranging background in treatment services spanning over two decades, working with both homelessness and substance misuse charities, overseeing teams and services that have made a tangible difference to people’s lives. Alongside this Fiona has extensive experience in the statutory sector, occupying senior commissioning roles in Local Authorities. Fiona is looking forward to working with other directors to deliver our strategic objectives for the Clinical and Communities Directorate.
Commenting on the changes to the Senior Management Team, Anna Hemmings, GamCare CEO said: “I’m delighted with Ray and Fiona’s appointments, they have been instrumental in transforming our work, ensuring GamCare is the leading provider of information and support for those affected by gambling harms. Their passion and drive have delivered significant improvements and have been instrumental in our recent successes. I am looking forward to their continued work within GamCare, our Partner Network and wider stakeholders to create further opportunities for innovation and impact.
