Psyonix Selects DreamHack and ESL Gaming as Rocket League Championship Series Esports Partner
DreamHack and ESL Gaming have announced that they will become esports partners of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) in a multi-year agreement with Rocket League developer, Psyonix.
The new partnership builds upon last year’s initial Rocket League Championship Series X collaboration between DreamHack and Psyonix, in which DreamHack operated the entirety of the 2020-2021 season. The new multi-year partnership will see DreamHack and ESL Gaming collaborate to operate the competitions, produce the official broadcasts and support the return to live events after a very long gap, with the first Major of RLCS Season 2020-2021 to be hosted in Stockholm, Sweden, as a players-only event.
The collaboration between DreamHack and Psyonix stems back to 2017 when DreamHack initially entered into the Rocket League Esports space and hosted two large-scale competitions at DreamHack Summer and Atlanta respectively. The launch of the DreamHack Pro Circuit followed in 2019, and now this next step sees DreamHack, ESL and Psyonix collaborating to create the best possible circuit for Rocket League esport fans and competitors around the world.
“Rocket League is one of the fastest growing properties in esports and we’re proud to partner with Psyonix to support its continued growth. We’ve been big believers in Rocket League Esports since day one, and we are really excited to take the next steps in our collaboration with Psyonix to help create the highest possible quality of competition for fans and teams around the world,” Michael Van Driel, SVP of Game Management at ESL Gaming, said.
